Bears' start has been OK but the best is yet to come

Just imagine what the Bears could do offensively with an effective running game and if they ever faced a bottom-tier defense. Matt Forte has rushed for 2.5 yards per carry and a total of 150 yards. That's not just a sophomore slump, it's a sophomore collapse. Once the running game gets better (it has to get better, right?), Cutler and the passing game should also improve from effective to potentially explosive.

The next month-plus is the perfect time for the Bears to get their offense right. They host Detroit next week, and then have their bye week. After that, Chicago is scheduled for a pair of road games against decent teams in Atlanta and Cincinnati. Both the Falcons and the Bengals have been better defensively in 2009 than they were last year, but neither can be called dominant.

City Council candidate Q & A: Mike O'Brien

Mike O'Brien is running against Robert Rosencrantz for Position 8 on the Seattle City Council.

The former chief financial officer for the law firm Stokes Lawrence and former chair of the Sierra Club has focused on transportation and transit issues. He was appointed to the governor's advisory panel to develop a plan to replace the Alaskan Way Viaduct, which recommended improvements to I-5, more public transit and improvements to surface streets, rather than a viaduct replacement.

O'Brien was born and raised in Seattle. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from Duke University and his MBA from the University of Washington. He lives in the Fremont neighborhood.

Q. You've made transportation a priority, including opposing the tunnel option for the viaduct.

Chemi Nutra & Increnovo File Patent For Phosphatidylserine's (PS

Specifically, the patent describes the oral use of PS to maintain healthy testosterone levels, targeted to men experiencing age related declines in testosterone, exercise induced declines in testosterone, and / or hypogonadism.

Scott Hagerman, president of Chemi Nutra said, “There has been a lot of research in recent years involving PS in the sports performance realm - looking at cortisol, stress and immune health, muscle soreness reduction and recovery, and improvements in weightlifting, running, and golf. This exciting new discovery will open additional doors for the use of PS in healthy aging, strength training, and body composition management in men. I am confident that PS will move beyond its well known cognitive enhancing health benefits and into this new area of use, as people become aware of these newest hormone related attributes."

“For the first time, it is now proven that short-term supplementation with a moderate dose of PS not only prevents a stress induced increase in cortisol concentrations, PS additionally can naturally benefit impaired testosterone levels", said Dr.

Senecas stun unbeaten St. Joe

"Dillon and the running backs did a terrific job running the ball, and they're starting to take a lot of pride in that stuff, and I appreciate that.

"(Dillon) is learning - it's not always the first guy that gets through the hole. With our offense we need to have a little patience and let our blockers get there. We're learning that. Hopefully we'll continue to improve that as we finish the season."

Catching Up With Dabo Swinney

They want to run the ball so we have to be able to stop the run on first and second down. They love to take the homerun shot on those downs.

"This kid Torrey Smith is a pretty good player, he is a good receiver, leading the ACC in reception yards and kickoff return yards. He is actually ahead of C.J. in all-purpose running. Their quarterback [Chris Turner] is a good player. He is a little better runner than I would like for him to be. That is something we are going to show improvement on. I am sure they will test us to see if we are better prepared to handle the quarterback. He is a good solid player.

"Defensively they are young. They only have four starters back and lost one of the top guys on defense to an injury early in the year. They just a new defensive coordinator and have a completely different scheme on that side of the ball.

Vandals running for success

That shorter distance helped acclimate the younger freshmen runners who are used to running 5k races, said Phipps. The womens team went 2-1 in the dual scoring, beating out Eastern Washington and Gonzaga while narrowly losing to Washington State by four points. The mens team, which features six freshmen and two seniors, went 0-3, but despite the result Phipps said he was impressed with individual performances from the team.
