In Friday night's lopsided matchup against Hammond, the talented running back put plenty of distance between himself and the next great Red Devils' running back who even dares to come close to challenging his career totals.

In a mismatch of epic proportions, Lowell ran all over the Wildcats and celebrated homecoming with a 63-0 win as Grubbe rushed for 165 yards on 22 carries and scored five touchdowns.

"He's a thoroughbred for us," Lowell coach Kirk Kennedy said. "We're awfully proud of the kid as a football player and as a young man. The line did a good job of blocking for him tonight. Once he gets to the line and gets a block, his athleticism and talent takes over from there."

Grubbe has scored 13 touchdowns in the last three weeks which in itself is astounding.

The Star-Ledger scouting report: NY Jets vs. Tennessee Titans

Fisher, therefore, has known Rex Ryan since he was a boy, and the typically gracious Titans coach expressed his delight that the younger Ryan got a chance to follow in his father's footsteps as an NFL head coach. On the offensive side of the ball, the Titans attack revolves around running back Chris Johnson, as Dave Hutchinson described so well earlier this week. Johnson torched the Titans last weekend for 197 yards rushing and 87 receiving yards. Johnson became the first player in NFL history to find the end zone on rushes of 90- and 50-plus yards and a reception of 60 plus yards in the same game. For that effort, his shoes landed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.As he does so many times, Bart Scott will have the last word here. Once again, the Jets have not been shy about talking through the media to the week's opponent.

Coral Gables' RB Bridge sets county record

Jarvis Bridge had one of the best games of an already stellar career Thursday night at Tropical Park.

The senior running back from Coral Gables High School rushed for 220 yards and scored six touchdowns to lead the Cavaliers to a 54-3 victory against district rival Ronald Reagan.

Bridge scored five times before the half, including long runs of 62 and 32 yards, respectively.

The five first-half touchdowns broke former Cavalier great and current San Francisco 49er Frank Gore's county record of four first-half touchdowns.

Gore holds Miami-Dade County's record for rushing yards in game -- 419.

``Jarvis had a great night,'' Coral Gables coach Joe Montoya said. ``He led our offense and found all the gaps the O-line set for him.

Brooks says it's unlikely UK will be able to use five backs on a weekly basis once the competition heats up. He says if the running backs stay healthy, the top three will get the bulk of the carries.

After a bye week, Kentucky returns to action on Saturday against Louisville.

Calipari on cover of magazine

The first college basketball preseason magazine has hit the newsstands, and new UK coach John Calipari is on the cover of the Athlon Sports 2009-10 college basketball preview.

The cover story, by Michael Bradley, is about Calipari's arrival and how "blue chips flock to the Bluegrass."

The best quote in the story is the final one, in which Calipari says, "This is like Disneyworld compared to where I've been.
