| Catch Both Escapist Pokemon Quizzes!
Take a quick look around the forums and you'll find more than one thread discussing this long-running series about oh-so-cute pocket monsters and their trainers. It seems that you folks know quite a bit about Pokemon. Care to put it to the test? If you're not a devout Pokefan, you may want to stick to our Normal Pokemon Quiz, which is tailored for the more casual player. If you've ever had a serious discussion about assembling a dream Poketeam, however, you may want to give the Impossible quiz a try. Or just take both. We don't judge. Both quizzes draw from both the Pokemon games and the anime series and, as usual, you are being timed. You can take as long as you like, but your time will affect your position on the leaderboard. Good luck! Our thanks to Sevre90210, who helped create these quizzes! Got a quiz of your own you'd like to submit? Send it to susan@escapistmag.com.
Shaken from Samoa quake, Maui resident had little time to think
It was Martins' first visit to the tiny South Pacific nation, and after three days she'd already fallen in love with the peaceful village located at a river's mouth, its warmhearted people and perfect waves. "It was paradise," she said. "It's beautiful." Then, walking back to her waterfront fale, or open-walled cottage, from an early pre-surf breakfast in the resort, Martins noticed "10 seconds of weirdness" - a horse spooked, dogs became agitated and dozens of birds took flight at once. Then the earthquake struck. The shaking was so strong, it knocked her to the ground. For three minutes, the earthquake, later measured at a magnitude 8.0, convulsed the seashore village, sending the resort's workers and six tourists staggering out of their fales.
Phillies' magic number still three as Braves surge and Fightins' fade
Well, a casual Google of the words "Phillies blog" takes the pulse of the fans and journalists who go to the effort to write. And, yes, worried we are. An entry in Red Phever, headlined "Worried yet?" gets straight to the point: "The Phillies ... are trying to break my heart." Beerleaguer points to a tired team in "Lack of depth, stubbornness, running Phillies ragged." Phillies Nation relates, "Phils continue to sputter toward the finish line." Fightin' Phillies offers, "Hearing footsteps of Atlanta, Phils lead down to 4 in NL East, this is getting 'Bazaro' bizarre."What do you think? Have you glanced at the wild card standings this week? Is this 1964 all over again, or will the Phillies wrap it up in the next few days? Join the conversation by posting a comment below. .
