| Scouting report: Ravens present formidible challenge
Randy Moss has taken a lot of heat in his career for running half-hearted routes and often taking plays off. However, the more you watch Moss, the more it appears he's trying to lull defenders to sleep when he jogs or runs patterns at less than full speed. One of the smartest and most versatile receivers in the league, Moss needs to have a big game for the Patriots to have any chance. Moss has exceptional acceleration and high-end speed; that's always been obvious. What hasn't always been obvious is his ability to morph into a possession receiver and exploit soft spots against zone coverages. Corners Fabian Washington and Domonique Foxworth will need help from safeties Ed Reed and Dawan Landry to shut Moss down. Reed is a game-changing player who specializes in intimidating hits, and a ballhawk who must be accounted for on every play.

Cup men's 10k and the Omaha Half Marathon in consecutive weekends. What was your impression of the running community in Omaha during both weekends? How has the running community supported your teams so far this season? Davis: They reminded me what I missed about Omaha in the past. It was great being a part of the running community in Oregon. It was a completely different world, with some of the biggest names and faces in the sport. As exciting and exhilarating as that was, though, sometimes it made you wonder if people took some of this stuff a little too seriously…a little too "life and death" at times. Don't get me wrong, this stuff is important, but at the end of the day, there are more important things out there. The Omaha running community can keep things in better perspective at times, and the people involved are a little more down to earth.
Coral Gables' RB Bridge sets county record
Jarvis Bridge had one of the best games of an already stellar career Thursday night at Tropical Park. The senior running back from Coral Gables High School rushed for 220 yards and scored six touchdowns to lead the Cavaliers to a 54-3 victory against district rival Ronald Reagan. Bridge scored five times before the half, including long runs of 62 and 32 yards, respectively. The five first-half touchdowns broke former Cavalier great and current San Francisco 49er Frank Gore's county record of four first-half touchdowns. Gore holds Miami-Dade County's record for rushing yards in game -- 419. ``Jarvis had a great night,'' Coral Gables coach Joe Montoya said. ``He led our offense and found all the gaps the O-line set for him.
