Win Willy stretches out at Hoosier

"After running his best sprint race I would expect him to run his best long. If he does that I think they will have their hands full."

Win Willy shipped to Hoosier on Thursday and was scheduled to gallop Friday, according to Robertson.

Misremembered, trained by Bob Baffert, has won 3 of 6 career starts, but has never started outside of Southern California.

He was second in the Grade 3 Affirmed on June 20 and then won the Grade 2 Swaps on July 18. Baffert ran Misremembered in the Grade 1 Pacific Classic at Del Mar in his last out Sept, 6, but he faded late to finish 10th after chasing the pace. This will be his first attempt on dirt. Regular rider Victor Espinoza will ride.

Despite the Odds will add blinkers for trainer Michael Trombetta in hopes of regaining the form he showed in June, when he won the Grade 3, off-the-turf Hill Prince at Belmont by 7 1/2 lengths.

Bears' start has been OK but the best is yet to come

Just imagine what the Bears could do offensively with an effective running game and if they ever faced a bottom-tier defense. Matt Forte has rushed for 2.5 yards per carry and a total of 150 yards. That's not just a sophomore slump, it's a sophomore collapse. Once the running game gets better (it has to get better, right?), Cutler and the passing game should also improve from effective to potentially explosive.

The next month-plus is the perfect time for the Bears to get their offense right. They host Detroit next week, and then have their bye week. After that, Chicago is scheduled for a pair of road games against decent teams in Atlanta and Cincinnati. Both the Falcons and the Bengals have been better defensively in 2009 than they were last year, but neither can be called dominant.

Saugus tries to end skid

Quarterback Antuan Goodall, who Bornn said may be the best running quarterback Saugus will see through its first four games, has struggled with passing. He has completed only 40 percent of his passes and has tossed four interceptions.Taft goes with a no-huddle offense and a 3-3-5 defense, but that defense has struggled against the run in two consecutive games. giving up 244 yards to Notre Dame’s Kenneth Boggs and 147 yards to Alemany’s Malcolm Marable in last Friday’s 28-19 loss.Yet Bornn is still concerned about the Toreadors, saying they’re bigger, stronger and faster than the Cents."It’s one of those games, if we show up like we did last week against Newbury Park, it’s going to be a long game," Bornn said, noting that his team didn’t seem mentally into it.The schedule isn’t any kinder as another ranked team, Crespi, follows next week.
