Vanishing rodents to those farmers that are giving feral cats a forever home. LONG SUNSET RIDES to the group of motorcycle riders that I unintentionally cut off after going through a red light. I am sincerely sorry for my mistake and hope you can accept my apology. BOUQUETS to local fight organizers, for providing venues where people who enjoy beating other people's heads in have an opportunity to do so, and to get their own heads beaten in return. The important part is they can both have their heads beaten in, instead of wasting that energy on something less productive. BOUQUETS AND CHEERS to the Cumberland dog catcher for apprehending unleashed and unfenced dogs. It's not her job to decide which unleashed and unfenced dogs might be dangerous, and which unleashed and unfenced dogs might not be dangerous, it's her job to keep the public safe by getting 'em all off the streets, and could she please, please, please move to Comox where our bylaw officer is in a coma.
Mexican drug cartel peddles meth, preaches religion
The seminars highlight the acts of charity and piety attributed to La Familia, a cartel notorious for running extortion rackets, corrupting politicians and police forces throughout the western state of Michoacan and manufacturing tons of methamphetamines in clandestine laboratories. Its leaders reputedly pave roads and pay hospital bills in impoverished pueblos, talk up law and order and even preach a homespun version of the gospel from a text authored by a cartel capo that goes by the handle El Mas Loco, or The Craziest One. "These people carry a Bible in the right hand . . . and a gun in the left hand," Larios says. Displays of religiosity are nothing new for Mexico's narcotics kingpins; it's alleged they have donated big to the Catholic Church - a charged denied by church officials - and adore Jesus Malverde, a Robin Hood-like figure they claim as their patron saint.
KTVU.com Talks With Legendary Producer Tom Werman (Part 1)
There's every reason to discount the past and say "The producer was responsible for our failure to be huge." And Steve Albini makes records in a few minutes and I guess they really enjoyed that concept. KTVU.com: So, to what benefit is it then, to have Cheap Trick re-record "In Color?" They've yet to release the newly recorded, Steve Albini produced version of the record, and who knows if they ever will? I don't know if they'll even finish it, it's out there as a bootleg now, but it's incomplete. Tom Werman: Yeah, I don't know either. But you know, Twisted Sister did the exact same thing. They re-recorded "Stay Hungry" and it sold 25,000 copies. KTVU.com: To what benefit did Twisted Sister do that? Does that quantity even justify the amount of time or money that went into re-recording it? Tom Werman: I don't know.

If I am paying anything more than $10, I'm going to want to keep the games forever. What about if 6 months after the initial playthrough I decide I want to spend some more time with this game, but I only have about 2 hours of time left on my glorified rental. What do I do then? Do I pay by the hour? I can't be the only person who peruses his old catalog of games and plays through some again, am I? In addition to that, what happens if I am sure I can beat a game if the 40 hours they want to sell me, but then I get stuck. And spend the next 26 hours of gametime trying to get past this particularly challenging area, what happens when I run out of time before I finish the game? Lastly, does anyone else see this changing the way games are made drastically? If developers were ever limited in the length they can make a game, replay value is going to go right out the window, we will be riddled with linear experience after linear experience.
